Why CIKBS
Central Illinois has plenty of good bass water but relatively few kayak tournament options close to home. CIKBS was created to give anglers around Bloomington-Normal, Peoria, Springfield, Champaign, and surrounding communities a competitive local series without spending most of the season driving three or four hours to fish.
The 2027 inaugural season is planned around Saturday events, catch-photo-release scoring, clear rules, and tournament waters within roughly 90 minutes of Bloomington-Normal. The goal is straightforward: run fair, organized events and build a series anglers want to come back to.
The format
CIKBS tournaments score an angler’s five longest accepted bass. Fish are measured, photographed, released, and submitted through the selected tournament platform. Season members earn points toward Angler of the Year and championship qualification.
